THE STANDARDS ACT
THE STANDARDS (LABELLING OF PROCESSED FOODS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2012
In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Minister by section 11 of the Standards Act, and of every other power hereunto enabling, the following Regulations are hereby made:—
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Standards (Labelling of Processed Food) (Amendment) Regulations, 2012, and shall be read and construed as one with the Standards (Labelling of Processed Foods) Regulations (hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations).
2. Regulation 9 of the principal Regulations is amended—
(a) in paragraph (1) by—
(i) deleting the words “two thousand dollars” and substituting therefor the words “three million dollars”;
(ii) deleting the words “and in default of payment” and substituting therefor the word “or”; and”
(iii) inserting immediately after the words “twelve months” the words “or to both such fine and imprisonment”
(b) in paragraph (2) by deleting—
(i) the words “five hundred dollars” and substituting therefor the words “three million dollars”;
(ii) the words “and in default of payment” and substituting therefor the word “or”; and
(iii) the words “four months” and substituting therefor the words “twelve months or to both such fine and imprisonment”.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Standards (Amendment) Regulations, 2012, and shall be read and construed as one with the Standards Regulations, (hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations) and all amendments thereto.
2. Regulations 10 (2), 11 (2), 11A (2) and 12, of the principal Regulations are amended by—
(a) deleting the words “two thousand dollars” wherever they appear and substituting therefor, in each case, the words “three million dollars”;
(b) deleting the words “and in default of payment” wherever they appear and substituting therefor, in each case, the word “or”; and
(c) inserting immediately after the words “twelve months” wherever they appear, the words “or to both such fine and imprisonment”.
